안녕하세요 수강생님, 직접 올리시느라 무척 번거로우셨을 것 같습니다. 해설을 보시면, Without the option, the NPV of the production facility is negative, and the real option does not add enough value to make the overall project profitable. → Project 1에 대한 해설. → 옵션이 없으면 Project A의 NPV는 (-)7이고, 옵션이 있다고 해도 +6밖에 플러스가 안되니, 결국 NPV는 (-)1. 즉 does not add enough value 하다는 맞는 말입니다. Holbrook is incorrect that he needs to wait for more information to make the decision on Project 2. If the NPV of the project without the option is positive, the analyst know that the project with the option must be even more valuable, and determining a specific value for the option is unnecessary. A real option adds value to a project, even if it is difficult to determine the monetary amount of that value. → Project 2에 대한 해설 → 옵션의 가치는 최소 0인것 알고 계시죠? 옵션은 행사 안하면 그만이고, 좋으면 행사하면 되니. 항상 (+)의 가치가 나옵니다. 즉, Project 2번의 경우 현재의 NPV가 $3mn 이니, 프로젝트를 그냥 하면 되는 것입니다. (옵션에 대한 고려 없이요. 옵션은 NPV를 올려줄 뿐입니다.) 더군다나 does not have any capital rationing restrictions 라고 문제가 나오잖아요. 제한없이 어디든 투자할 수 있는 것입니다. 이런 경우 NPV가 (+)인 프로젝트는 모두 다 투자를 해야겠죠. 즉, Holbrook 의 말은 incorrect 한 것입니다. 해설에도 문제가 없습니다. (옵셥이 없는 상태에서 프로젝트의 NPV가 (+)라면, 애널리스트는 옵션이 있는 상태의 프로젝트는 반드시 그것보다 더 (+)가 나올 것이라는 것을 알고 있다. 그리고 옵션의 구체적인 가치를 결정하는 것도 불필요하다. (어짜피 (+)니까요)) A real option adds value to a project, even if it is difficult to determine the monetary amount of that value.
