In accounting sector, public accounting(CPA), which held the top spot in 2003, fell to 6th place last year with management accountants(CMA) rising to first place, according to the findings of the 16th annual salary survey conducted by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). Salaries and compensation were found to be higher for professionals holding a Certified Management Accountant(CMA) credential ($97,908), than for those with a Certified Public Accountant(CPA) credential ($93,104). The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credential has never been more valuable than it is today, and we expect with confidence this trend to continue. As known well, multinational corporations have globally accepted the CMA/CFM credentials for their accounting and finance professionals or employees as they believe that the knowledge and skills required to earn these certifications are the same knowledge and skills required to be successful in their companies.
